✔ When natural erosion occurs, gravel forms with smoother and rounder edges. In contrast, crushed stone has rougher edges and is less smooth. However, due to various classifications of gravel, this distinction may not always be clear.

✔ To ensure optimal results, it is essential to specify the particular rock fragments used as different types have varying advantages and disadvantages depending on their intended purpose. Below are some examples of different types of gravel.

✔ To calculate the required volume of gravel, multiply the length, width, and height. The density of gravel usually ranges from 1520 to 1680 kg/m3. If mixed with sand, the density generally increases to 1920 kg/m3.
